We’d like to believe that the Silverado has no competition, but if you’re looking for a frame of reference, think of a Ford F-150, a Ram 1500, or even a Toyota Tundra.
In terms of exterior, the new Silverado gets two new paint options—a calming Lakeshore Blue and a sleek new Slate Gray. A lot of the trims will also get additional finish options, giving you even more choices than last year.
Trims with the 6.2L V-8 engine get an active exhaust addition, which you can really hear when you rev it in the Silverado’s Sport Mode.
Finally, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard with every single trim.

The Silverado has been America’s best-selling pickup truck for decades. It’s also one of the oldest models in its class, and it hasn’t been updated since 2017. So what new is coming in 2023?
The first thing you’ll notice is a completely redesigned front end that gives the truck a more modern look. The grille is larger and more aggressive, while the headlights have been slimmed down and moved into the fenders. There are also bigger air intakes on either side of the bumper to help cool everything down.
The sides won’t look much different from before, but there are some subtle changes that make it look more modern. The doors have been widened by about an inch, so they’re more aerodynamic and easier to climb into than before.
The back end is where things get interesting, though — especially if you own a Crew Cab model with dual rear wheels (DRW). The tailgate now features an integrated spoiler to help keep your bed from dragging on the ground when you’re hauling something heavy or going off-road.
The Silverado has a full suite of safety features and offers an optional Driver Alert Package that can help prevent accidents. The Driver Alert Package includes a surround-view camera system, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist.
